Bloated- ultrasound showed inflamed omentum

My doctor just rang this morning with this result and now I've got an appointment with a gynae first thing on Wednesday. I'm a bit worried it's so quick. I never heard of the omentum before! Anyone with similar? Pic attached.

I believe its the layer of membrane which lies over the organs. Mine was inflamed once. I was diagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease. It can be sorted with antibiotics. I think thats what they give. However there may be an underlying cause. In my case endometriosis. Try not to worry.

Try not to worry my friend was hospitalised with this last week, she had intravenous antibiotics overnight and with a couple of days was back to normal, most of the time it's caused by an infection and is easily treated.
