hello, i have a question, im a worrier and am slowly driving myself mad just over 2 weks ago i went to the zoo to take part in a sponsered toddle, im not normally very active so when i got back both my calf mucles felt the strain, in fact my right one was agony for a couple of days, my right leg is my stronger leg iunwim, anyway after a couple of days the pain subsided but i still sometiems have a very slight niggling pain in my right leg, normally when im in bed and i rest my good leg on my bad leg, feels sort of like a briuse, so my question is, could it still be the after effects of all the walking? i have have no redness or swelling but am still panicking incase i have a dvt, my hubby thinks its just that ive strained my muscle but in my true style i dont take his word for it lol. thanks in advance xx

I've had pains like this, and have been checked for DVT...first time I was pregnant, and my calf was actually measured by the GP and was bigger than the other one, the pain was so bad, i could not walk properly on it, and it was quite severe....was not a clot

had it again, a few months ago, back to A&E, not a clot...

don;t know what it is, just what it isn't

but we have a strong family history of blood clots...my mum has had one, and my twin sister has had 2 or 3!

there are some simple tests that can be done to rule out a clot....

more likely it is after effects of the walking, maybe go to GP just in case

if no long haul travel, no swelling, no redness, no history of it in the family, probably nothing, as spontaneous DVT is quite rare

thanks for replying lulu, will see how it goes, im not aware of a history of it in the family, i thought it looked a little more swollen that the other leg so i measured it pmsl and its measuring the same
