Hay fever and itchy eyes

Anyone else suffer from hay fever that affects their eyes? They're itchy, streaming and puffy (so much so that 2 people today have asked me if I'm ok!) How do you treat this? I've been taking a daily antihistamine but it doesn't seem to be doing anything yet.

I get very itchy eyes too. I use eye drops that have sodium cromoglicate in them you can get them from a pharmacy. Also even though your nose isn't affected using a steroid nose spray helps too as its all connected. Again you can get one from the pharmacy I'm not sure supermarkets don't sell them too.

Also antihistamines can take a while to build up in your system.

Yes me. Eye drops combined with a thin layer of Vaseline around the eyes is the only thing which helps.

Ooh thank you both, haven't heard of the Vaseline trick before. Will definitely be making a trip to the pharmacy tomorrow for those drops.

There is a viral infection, flu type, going round. Makes your eyes sting and water.my eyelids were swollen. Also really aching legs another symptom.

I've got hay fever too. My eyes were sore and itchy, I thought I might have an infection but anti-histamine sorted it. I'm a bit sneezy too. There are trees in blossom in my area and it's always tree pollen that gets me - usually in mid April.

I did think it was a bit early for hay fever, but don't have any other symptoms 🤷🏻‍♀️
