Urinary tract symptoms and anticoagulants.

I’m wondering if anyone has had any issues with anticoagulant medication, briefly described as follows. Suffered leg dvt three years ago. Was put on warfarin for three months then had another dvt on stopping this. Was then put on rivaroxaban and 5 hours later had a sudden very bad uti. Normally my uti’s take 2-3 days to build up, and I was getting no more than 2 year. After I was put on rivaroxaban the frequency of uti’s began to increase until they were permanent, basically while on antibiotics I was ok, but 36-48 hours after stopping them the infection would return. This went on for nearly three years by which time I developed resistance to most antibiotics. Urologists did lots of tests and expressed their puzzlement. I asked several times if the anticoagulant might be the cause and was told that it could not be so. Two months ago I had enough and out of desperation stopped the anticoagulants, the symptoms faded over and the infection just sort of vanished. I mean sort of, because the urine still smells, although not so much, and the urine sample dipsticks I brought on eBay still show bacteria. But I have ZERO symptoms. I am waiting to see the urologist and the haematologist and I am very concerned about what they will say, I don’t think there is any evidence to back up my assertion about the anti coagulant so they simply won’t believe me. Probably they will tell me to restart it to see if my uti’s come back, but if they do then they will likely say it’s a coincidence and tell me to stay on them and to have intravenous antibiotics for the uti’s. I am trying to find out if anyone else has any experience of this uti/anticoagulant connection.
