Wondering if anyone can shed any light or have similar experiences..

A good few years ago I went into hospital for a minor op and they swabbed my nose said I had Staphylococcus and I had to use some body wash called hibiscrub and something else I don't recall, before being admitted.

No other major or possibly related health problems..

However in the past couple weeks I have had 2 big lumps come up on my breast and at crease of thigh. GP says abscesses and gave me antibiotics. One is half the size of a golf ball and burst a little but red hot and a little sore.
I also am having a big breakout of spots on my face and my nose at the same time for the first time in many years. Not like acne spots I got when younger.
And other smaller boil type things on my neck at hairline..

Should have put this in AIBU, but aibu to think I am TEEMING with bacteria all of a sudden in the space of a couple weeks, and wonder why this happened??

Nothing has changed in my routine or hygiene except falling asleep with jeans on a couple times recently and sweating out a cold last week which was over in 2 days..

Thinking about using hibiscrub or something..and separating my towels from the DCs!!

all of us are teeming most of the time, but mostly with benign or goodies.

lowered immune system? it has been busy fighting your cold.

you need your ordinary bacteria as they take up the space so the bad ones can't grow so well.

you are probably more bacteria than you.

We all are. You have many more bacteria than you have cells in your body. You'd fire if you didn't.
The staph in your nose are a normal commensal (harmless/beneficial) bacteria in a third of people.

I'd make sure you aren't diabetic (increases risk of infection)

Chuck half a packet of Epson salts in the drum of your washing machine, throw in a few old towels and put it on a hot wash. It'll sterilise your machine.
