I have had very thin hair, after DS2 , had blood tests etc with no clue why this happened. I dread going to the hair dressers as they always ask - are you on medication - isn't your hair thin ? Sad
I have just ordered some viviscal extra strength - based on the before and after photos of users. Hmm
Have any lovely mumsnetters tried this ? successful - or is it snake oil

Maybe try this in Style and Beauty OP? There are a few threads on hair.

I'm just debating whether to try this or Nourkrin - neither are cheap, but like OP, l've always suffered with thin hair and it seems to be getting as l get older 😕.

Ds is currently suffering from thinning hair and we've been to see a dermatologist specialising in childhood hairloss privately very recently. She says he's just unlucky genetically but has prescribed 6 months of minoxidil foam (regaine) and ketoconazol shampoo which have both be proven clinically to work for some.

She said we could try a multivitamin but his diet seemed ok, just avoid too much Vit A as it can cause hairloss, we are trying perfectil as much cheaper and seems to have the same basic b, d, zinc, foliate, iron, biotin etc vitamins as the more expensive brands. She said there are lots of products which aren't clinically proven which she doesn't recommend.

Alternatively there are cosmetic treatments such as hair fibres and coloured dry shampoo which can distract from the scalp showing, but ds wasnt keen to try them.
