For the last 10 days I’ve had a feeling of a lump in my throat and clicking feelingwhen I’m swallowing. I’ve been pressuring round my throat trying to see if I can feel a lump , which I can’t , but obviously this is making it a bit tender which isn’t helping matters.
I do suffer from anxiety but I don’t think it’s related to this but I am worried about going to the doctors as I had a close relative die from lung cancer which first presented with a lump in neck.
I’m good to try to get to the doctor this week but has any had similar that can reassure me . Thanks

Generally google is not your friend if you are anxious but google the term “Globus Sensation” and see if it rings any bells for you.

Tonsil stones? They always feel like something is stuck in my throat when I get them

ihatethecold · 24/02/2019 19:10

Sounds like anxiety to me.

It's your anxiety. That was always the major sign that I was getting anxious. I still get it now if I get stressed

Thank you for your responses.ive taken a look at globus sensation and it does actually ring some bells so that’s given me a bit of reassurance.
It’s definitely not tonsil stones as I’ve had them before and this feeling is not like my previous experience.
Thanks again

Second one to vote for anxiety - I get it too. First time I was convinced I had throat cancer and even had a camera stuck down my throat and it was all clear.

It could be an under active thyroid. The only symptom I had before diagnosis was a lump in my throat and difficulty swallowing and it was a goiter. Ask for a blood test.

Anxiety. Awful sensation.

This is a very common anxiety symptom. I have experienced it, it's horrible!

Thanks everyone for your comments. It has been a bit better the last day or so when I’m not obsessing about it and touching it to check.
