OK I think you may have to try tweezers. I think the white thing you have already got rid of is probably the main venom sac.

jellyjelly · 05/07/2007 22:41

Poor you. No idea re what to do but bags of sympathy.

Browny · 05/07/2007 22:48

jellyjelly, have you got any Piriton? Might help with the swelling and take a painkiller too, check first on the Piriton bottle to make sure it's o.k. Hope it stops hurting soon.

amateurarsedoctor · 05/07/2007 22:48

I'm also good with bee stings. I've had many.

It will throb for a while. They do. If you've removed the sac, which I'm sure you have, the worst will be over.

The bit left behind is probably part of the hook they use to stab you with. Mag sulph sounds good, to help draw out the hook.. Do you have Piriton? That would help with the throb. Lavender oil is also good for soothing the irritation, diluted on cotton wool.

SlightlyMadSalmon · 05/07/2007 22:49

Yes Pririton is good for stings.

amateurarsedoctor · 05/07/2007 22:49

Great minds Browny.

Browny · 05/07/2007 22:52

AAD, read your other thread, pmsl for ages! Hope you have fully recovered .

Oh, apparently Bicarbonate of Soda and water paste helps too.

amateurarsedoctor · 05/07/2007 23:02

Why thank you Browny.

All is well in that department now thanks.

I agree re. the bicarb.

Vinegar for Vasps Bicarb for Bees

Browny · 05/07/2007 23:09

AAD, very glad to hear that indeed! You and your 'op' will surely go down in history as one of the most memorable threads on mn! Congratulations!!

I still think i can see a line black line in the wound. It si still throbbing. I did take an anti histermine Last night but i think i have to wait till about 10 to have another one.

It still hurts loads and i can shut my hand very well.

When the infection as such dies down, the sting will come out, it can't do much harm I wouldn't have thought. Keep with the Piriton or if you are really really worried, phone NHS direct.
