Hair regrowth after having baby

What the subject says really..

So I am 15 months Post baby and my hair is still not back to normal. I have new hair growth all over, so it's really thick to about halfway down and then goes thinner.

Most people I know only lost from the undeneath at the front..but I seem to have lost from everywhere. At the moment I look like I am growing out really dodgy bangs.

I know I should be glad that it's growing back..but it's taking forever Hmm

How long did it take for your hair to go back to normal?

Watching as I have the same problem but no one seems to know what I'm talking about! My baby hair around my hairline has become full blown hair which is all sticking up as though it is trying to grow out!

Any other health issues or factors that might be affecting it - e.g. breastfeeding?

My hair was awful for ages after DD, and better after I stopped bf, but has never gone back to the old normal. I'm resigned to having thinner patches at the front.

Mine took 3 years to start looking decent again. This was after 3 pregnancies so 3x regrowth. It was just thin fuzz for such a long time. Now almost 5 years on I finally have long thick hair again. I took a hair supplement latterly which helped it to grow faster.

Yes mine was awful and the regrowth is all gray by the look of it!! My bangs are a disgrace now so I've let them grown out a bit til the regrowth bits catch up!

@ApplestheHare
Still BF, but only max twice a day now, I guess I'm just resigned to looking like rod Stewart for a bit Hmm

@eyesbiggerthanstomach
Yep! Hairspray and clips are my new best friends Blush I honestly think I prefer the hair loss than the regrowth! Haha

Hair regrowth (or not) can be linked to some deficiencies (low ferritin which is iron and vit d and b12) and hypothyroidism.

If it's growing now though it's likely that you're ok but maybe went through a low patch in something.

I'm 9 mo post partum and have a nice 4 cm mini fringe. I lost buckets but it stopped around 6 months and so far so good. I'm hypothyroid but that's been stable and I reckon the other things are ok as I take a multivitamin and make sure I have the odd rare steak.

Or you just lost loads as I did and it's taking a while to grow out.
