Perioral dermititis anyone?

I have just been to see the doctor about my spotty chin which I had from being 17 weeks pg (ds2 nearly 4 months now so it has been a while and starting to get me down). He diagnosed perioral dermititis and prescribed rozex (metronidazole) cream. On getting home and reading the leaflet, it says the cream is for rosacea and ..if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it may not be advisable to use this product, unless your doctor considers it essential... I am confused on 2 counts - has he prescribed the right thing and is it safe to use when bf? I told the doc I was bf but he did not comment. Has anyone any knowledge or experience that might help?

My chin is so bad this morning I feel that I don't want to leave the house. Any advice please?

Not much advice really, but I think I would ring GP/pharmacist and explain your concerns. Hopefully they would put your mind at ease.

No advice I´m afraid just sending some virtual moral support as I too have suffered from something similar and its no joke.

In my case the spots appeared on my chin after I had my little boy 6 months ago and they made me feel so self-conscious. They have since calmed down but I always look in the mirror with crossed fingers every morning

I was prescribed metronidazole cream a few years back for a patch of rosacea and it worked a treat but obviously I wasn´t pregnant at the time.

Hope you get sorted...
