Just wondering. My Dad says he's never had chicken pox but he has had shingles. And if that is possible could he subsequently catch chickenpox or is he immune?

Don't know, but I had a school friend who got shingles as an adult without ever having had chickenpox.

No it is not possible-shingles is a re-emergence of the chicken pox virus, so you have to have CP first. What is most likely is that he had it very mildly as a child. Sometimes you can have just one spot, so it goes unnoticed by parents!
