My ds 9 has a wobbly premolar. When he was brushing his teeth this morning a piece of the tooth (nearest the gum) fell off, and it looks cracked. I think that it might be the new tooth that i can see underneath, but i'm not sure. He says it feels a little sore, but is not painful.

Has anyone noticed this with their dc, or should i be phoning the dentist?

Thanks

hmm. maybe i'll wait until tonight for any dentists around?

Or have i started one of those threads that annoy people because the answer is obvious . Don't think so - shall go and have a look elsewhere.

Still its nice having a conversation with myself. Shame i can't answer it though really

Well hopefully when i do get an answer its something that you won't have to be asking about in 3 years time
Was just thinking i might get the record for the longest post with only my answers. At least i know someone really is out there. Thanks

id phone the dentist for definite

marymoocow · 05/07/2007 14:30

Thanks nailpolish. Think i might do that. I was ok about it this morning when it happened (dh freaked out lol), but have been thinking about it all day. Think i might have stayed too calm, so as to not panic ds iyswim.
Will have another look at it when i pick him up in a minute and then give them a phone.

Obviously it isn't something that is common.

Dd2 had a similar situation with a tooth. The worst thing about it was that the baby tooth came out in three separate bits over a number of weeks so the Tooth Fairy had to pay out three times!

marymoocow · 05/07/2007 21:40

Thanks for the reply. Had another look at it when he came home from school, and i'm sure it is just the new one underneath that i can see, and it isn't hurting him, so will just go along with it for now.

He lost the bit he spat out down the plughole btw , so no money there. Although he did go to bed and ask if the toothfairy would still come even though part of his tooth was missing
