Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to look after a blister on my DD's thumb..
She has sucked her thumb since she was able to and now at 1 years old I have noticed what looks like a callous on her thumb..
Does anyone know what I could do with it?
I think her tooth at the bottom seems to be rubbing on her thumb and making matters worse..
Any adive is much appreciated..
Thanks in advance

dd has had one ever since she started at about 8 weeks. At one point she actually gnawed into the flesh until the wound got infected so we had to apply antiseptic cream and bandage it up - not that it stopped her. It was impossible to keep on and at one point (on her 1st birthday) I suddenly noticed it had gone and fretted she had swallowed it until I found it in her car seat !She is now 3 and there is no obvious blister but she still sucks it. tbh I'm more concerned with her teeth now.

I sucked my thumg until I was 11 and on occasionaly still do after one too many vinos. The dentist always told me that my sucking my thumb had helped my teeth pull them out a bit, iykwim. My bottome set had initially been in front of my top so over the years of thumb sucking it pulled my top set out. Plus thumb sucking was alot more enjoyable than braces!!!!! I wouldn't worry too much about it.
