But it went septic. It healed after that but he always has a sore throat. Sometimes I can't go anywhere near him as its that's strong. The first 10 years, his breath was normal but the last 8 years, his breath is not normal. He used the strongest mouthwash - Corsodyl... (and also normal mouthwashes - dentyl) but nothing seem to shift that smell!!...

I've told him to go to docs as it could be something else but he won't go

Any other ideas

Definitely go back to the GP.

Bad breath can be a sign of something serious.

In the meantime try CB10 - it’s a much more effective breath freshener than Corsodyl, which is meant for gum health. It worked for DS when he had severe tonsillitis.

Sorry, should be CB12.

Does he get his teeth cleaned regularly, my ex had breath like satans arsehole when I met him and I discovered he's never once had his teeth properly cleaned by a hygeinist. A few regular treatments sorted that out.

Exactly the above!
Bad hygiene/caries

Stomach problems/inflammation

Chronic sinusitis/ENT inflammation

His tonsils were out and it sounds like he has a chronic sore throat which means chronic inflammation. He really ought to get a referral to ENT to rule out inflammation as the cause of his bad breath. But start with the dentist first to rule out caries, etc.

Thank you everyone. I'll ring his dentist and start from there. To come to think about it, he never been to the hygienist since I've been with him. Thank you for everyones advices.
