Always needing to get up at night to wee (teenager)

My son complains that he never sleeps through the night but always needs to wake to wee. Last night it was three times.
He says it’s been at least once a night for a year.
Is this normal?

Could it be a water infection? Doesn't sound normal at all.

I'd go to the GP to request an ultrasound referral.
