Frightened over recurring yeast infections (tmi)

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with this. I've had two yeast infections this year and am on my third. I treated the last two with a tablet from boots (I tried the pessary but I couldn't fit it in which is also worrying me) and will try to go to the doctors monday but I'm so nervous. What will they do at the appointment? If they will have to look down there will they prefer me to shave or is it okay if I don't?

I'm also a massive germophobe and concerned that there are germs of it everywhere and even if I do clear it it'll come back like the last time. I wear loose clothes and don't wear underwear whenever possible. I also eat a lot of garlic and a cranberry supplement like the internet reccomends. What more could do I to prevent them?

I'm also worried because I had no symptoms and then overnight it happened
I woke up thinking I had wet myself (tmi) but it was discharge and I have massive chunks that are sort of yellowy/green but they started out white this morning which is why I think it's a yeast infection. I'm also suddenly in a lot of pain and have sores around my vulva that are bleeding and all essentially overnight.

I guess I just need someone to tell me it'll be okay but I can't help but think that this 'violent' shall we say of an infection is normal :/

I suffered from almost constant thrush for a couple of years, including the sores, which obviously also affected my sex life. I’ve always been susceptible to it when run down, but it took seeing lovely doctor at a sexual health clinic to really get it sorted.

I had several courses of daily fluconazole and other treatments before it was under control. I was also advised to wash that area with aqueous cream ( you can get it from chemists and supermarkets) rather than any sort of soap or shower gel. Also use lots of lubricant as the little sores can be aggravated during sex.

The doctor will probably want to take a swab but it’s nothing to worry about, like a much gentler smear test. Hope it gets better soon.

Thank you! I'm glad yours is under control now too. I will go to the doctors and hopefully they will prescribe me something that works

@ShannonRockallMalin are you fine without treatment now, I did 6 months of fluconazole and had no symptoms but they came back after I stopped
