On new years eve I woke up with an earache on my left side. 2 days later it was gone but I was left with an uncomfortable throat on my left side. It is still there but no worse but no better either. I wouldn't call it sore as it isn't really. Just a bit tickly and uncomfortable. On shining a torch in to my mouth the back of my throat (left side) and the left tonsil are red and there is a small collection of pus on the left tonsil. I used to get bouts of tonsilitis when I was a teenager but always felt ill with it. Can you get tonsilitis without a fever and other symptoms?
