Purple mark on leg after cyst/boil

Serious health anxiety here. I had a sore bump on my inner thigh last month. I left it alone and the bump went away but I’m still left with what looks like a small bruise under the skin where it was.

Any ideas? I was thinking ingrown hair but I can’t see a hair.

I am prone to cysts down there and have a lot of scarring

I have this all the time, occassionally the bump comes back, its like a hard lump. The skin is always discoloured.
It's at the top of my thigh.

Ah thank you so much for answering. I wondered if it was possibly just lying dormant and would come back

Probably from chafing in the seam of your trousers or leggings?

GassyAss · 18/01/2019 19:58

I get these bumps sometimes. Occasionally they'll pop (ugh) but still hang around then regenerate. Takes ages to heal too.
I seem to get more when I'm cycling a lot so like the other poster, I reckon it's a combo of ingrown hairs and chafing.

I have a mark like this on my thigh too. I think it was an ingrowing hair or irritation from wearing skinny jeans almost daily.
I did pop it though 😬 so I think mine is purple because it’s scarred. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about. You could try bio-oil or similar to try and reduce the colour if it bothers you.

Hmm I did squeeze it very very hard trying to make it pop Confused

Sounds like a boil to me, OP.

They fade eventually. You can wash with antibacterial shower gel to reduce the chance of others forming.

Antibacterial shower gel on the shopping list!! Thanks everyone you’ve put my mind at rest, really didn’t fancy ANOTHER trip to the docs
