If you had the Mirena coil removed how long did you bleed for?

I haven't stopped for 8 days since and it's very draining. Wondering if this is srandard or if I'm very unlucky.

I bled heavily for about 2 weeks, I ended up getting medication from the doctor because I was worried I'd lost a lot of blood. She told me it was completely normal.

Thank you fluffy I'll give it until Monday. If it hasn't stopped at that point (12 days) I'll ask if they can do anything/check for anemia.

I think it was about 2 weeks, and it was the heaviest bleeding ever.

I had a small amount of spotting for one day and that was it. My period didn't come back properly for three months.

Did your gp say anything about how long bleeding should last?

Hi hope things have settled down for you now . I'm due to have my mirena removed next Tuesday to and this is what I'm dreading 🙁
Does the bleeding start straight away or does it take few days ? Just worrying about being at work if bleeding really bad.

AhhhHereItGoes · 19/01/2019 20:23

@Worsethingshappenatsea a few hours it started with tiny spotting straight after.

Day 2-4 I'd say is the worst. I'm hoping it's finished now, fingers crossed!

It's not particularly painful if that's any consolation - just very red as opposed to brown-red with a period and quite a lot.

If you are saturated within 30 minutes see a doctor though as that's likely to make you feel dizzy/disorientated.

I hope it goes okay for you 💐

Hi @AhhhHereItGoes Yes it's out !

Was a bit uncomfortable but over in seconds. Bit of bright red bleeding and spotting then nothing since. Keep going loo to check tho as expecting period from hell to start any minute !
Mine had been in 8 years and didn't have a period all test time so no idea what will happen now .

How's things with you now hope all ok ?
