Any idea what this little black spot under my toenail is?

I have a tiny black spot under my toenail, it’s been there for weeks and hasn’t grown out as my nail has grown. Have any of you experienced anything like this, is it worth getting it checked...I feel a bit silly going to see my GP as it’s so tiny. I do have a picture but can’t figure out how to attach it.

I am no doctor, but my strong advice is to make an appointment with your GP to get it checked out, and I do not think it would be silly at all to go to your GP with this.

It could be a melanoma- definitely get it checked

I have had something similar a couple of times. I think it was due to some sort of trauma although both times I hadn't been aware of hurting my toe. I did go to the GP and both times they referred me to get it checked out due to the possibility of it being a melanoma. Better safe than sorry.

Go to your doctor OP. This is one of those things that shouldn't be ignored. It could be completely harmless but it needs to be checked.

Hello. I recently found this spot under my nail, it appeared suddenly 2 days ago. I’ve searched a ton and all of this “melanoma” talk is scaring me. I walk a LOT like 50 km minimum a week, and I think it might just be a bruise but I really wanted some consultation.
