Copper coil, any problems?

StarryStarryNight · 28/06/2007 23:19

I had a copper coil inserted end of may (not with hormones). I keep having a niggling discomfort in my lower abdomen, and period like soreness in my lower back. bottom and down my legs. Any one else had this?
The nurse checked it yesterday, it is in the right place, and she did a swap for infection. Doubt there is any infection, as I have been on 4 different antibiotics the last week... (lymphacitis)

i have one and have had no problems but from what I understand on here some people are suited and some aren't. If the nurse thought it was okay then it might just need a bt of time to um - settle.

When did you have it put in?

BBBee · 28/06/2007 23:24

oh - and sorry to read that you have been ill lately.

StarryStarryNight · 28/06/2007 23:30

Thanks BBBee, it has only been in since the end of may. Maybe I will just have to see how it goes. Part of me is dying to have it out. Every time I think of this foreign metal object inside me my toes curl and my legs shiver. looks like I have issues....

okay - you need to get it out. It is not going to suit you and my friend had the same feelings and never got over those issues. either you can or you can't.

Contraception is so hard!

StarryStarryNight · 28/06/2007 23:37

oh shoot. I need contraception, and this is very efficient, I cant even think of my husbands "throbbing member" without thinking AUU! and Ouch! Heck, I cant even bend down to pick up stuff off the floor. You are right I need to get it out. Condoms here I come again.....
