Just as per the title really. Had a short cycle before (varied from 21-25 days ish so not that short then some irregular ones at one point at which point I had hormone tests which came back normal ) but since having periods back in May last year they are really short and I started tracking them . They are now exactly 17 days from start to start. Not sure if this is a health issue ? It’s annoying but I don’t want to be on the pill really as it causes me it’s own issues.

Do they generally have the same 'flow' as a normal period? I would definitely recommend seeing your GP as short cycles could indicate a hormonal imbalance.

Thanks for the reply. I’m not sure - I think actually that I have the odd really heavy one but not sure now if it’s every other or less often than that. It’s a pain because it means it’s only around 12days without bleeding between one ending and the next starting.

I’d see your GP anyway, not because there is necessarily anything wrong, you had a short cycle anyway and periods do change as we get older, but you need some help to manage your cycle here. You don’t have to live half your life on a period.

Thanks Khlobuschar I will make an appointment, maybe they will do some more tests. Yes ,PMT twice a month is also quite difficult and hadn’t thought of it as half my life but it pretty much is !
