recovery from measles with mild encephalitis in an adult

Hi all, does anyone know anything about measles? I caught it from my DS. He wasn't too ill, thank god (he's just gone 12 months old) - dr wasn't even sure it was measles when he had it. But then I caught it, and my symptoms were more 'classic'. I was really ill & got mild encephalitis afterwards. Does anyone have any idea how long it will be before I get properly better? It's been 3 weeks and today is the first day that I'm well enough to watch TV and go on computer. I've lost 2 stone in weight in 3 weeks, my memory is shot to pieces and I've got parasthesis on my left side. I'm the main breadwinner in our family, earn mostly on commission and I'm really worried about how long it will be before I can go back to work and whether I'll be able to function. Does anyone have any experience of this? My Dr has never seen an adult with measles before. She says it's worse for adults, but doesn't know when I'll start feeling like my old self again.

I tried a bit of a look round for you, but could not find anything measles specific, only on encephalitis, and that was pretty vague really, just that it can take some time to recover, but not any specific timescale. I got the impression they were talking months though, not weeks...sorry

thanks for looking & replying anyway! I guess I'm very lucky I don't have all the symptoms there. Oh well, back to bed...
