Taking Immunosuppressants - can anyone reassure me?

I have just been told that I will be placed on immunosuppressants. I have Crohn's disease and skin morphia that's has spread into my bones and is now affecting my arm, back, hips etc causing pain and loss of sensation. The medication will be to control both conditions.

I have been told that I will be having a MDT meeting to discuss side effects etc after I have had the results back from my chest X-ray and blood results. I don't know the name of the medication yet as there are a couple that will be discussed and a decision will be made after the MDT meeting.

I was wondering if anyone is on immunosuppressants and can give me a heads up on what to expect? Or questions to ask in the meeting.

Have you suffered from side effects?
Can I still drive?
Can I go abroad?
Do you catch illnesses more?
Did you have the let your employer know? (I work in an office)
Does it effect your day to day life?

I have a 5 year old who is in reception and seems to bring home every bug that goes around. And due to me having asthma and after contracting swine flu a few years back (very bad in hospital for 3 weeks) my immune system is not the best anyway!

Thanks
