What's happened to DH's finger?

He was changing the bedsheets and had a pain in his finger, which has now gone numb , and a dark bruising has appeared on it. Should he call 111?

I had something similar with my thumb, I was locking the door, it went bang, hurt and bruised straight away.

I did see a doctor as it hurt and the bang was quite violent, they guessed it was a blood vessel bursting or something, they weren’t overly worried (but I always worry saying that to people online in case theirs is different!). Never happened again.

Looks like achenbach's syndrome

My DS broke the tip of his finger recently and the nurse said that sporting injuries were the most common cause of his injury in children (his was basketball related), but the most common cause in adults is changing the bed! Could he have broken it?!

I'm glad you started this thread because I think I had achenbach's syndrome in the summer. My middle finger started hurting quite badly after digging in the garden.

It took ages to go down, but has now completely disappeared.

Sorry for the hijack, but I now have an explanation for what happened.

Ha! Presuming it doesn't warrant 111 call then
