Has anyone had a fractured 5th metatarsal?

I'm 2 weeks into 6 weeks in a slipper cast. I don't have any pain and can walk on it okay but I wondered how well people with this fracture have recovered. Am I likely to be able to drive once the cast is off, or will that be a few weeks off? I'm really missing being able to drive myself places and not rely on others.

No, but I has a stress fracture in the tibia. I asked my friend who lives verynear to me to take me with her every time she goes out, even if she was just going to dentist or post office. She did exactly that and said afterwards that she enjoyed having my company. I hated being stuck indoors, so it cheered me up no end.
