Please can anyone advise exactly how this can be transmitted and what the incubation period is?

DD developed it about 8 weeks, overnight it seemed. Course of ABs and a liberal amount of germolene and it cleared up in a few days.

CM thinks she may have it again so got Dr appt for later today.

She was with me all day yesterday, not around other kids and apart from an hour at an office we were pretty much around the house all day.

I can't figure out where she's getting it from.

Altho it hasn't been confirmed yet....

TIA

ps: dd is 20 months and most info i can find says it's rare in pre-school kids.

My DD1 has had it twice but she has eczema and it is much more common in kids with broken skin due to this.

Ask the doc for some Bactroban or similar to apply topically.

It's apparently a disease 'associated with poverty' so guess our kids will get Rickets next - maybe shave their heads and paint them purple???

brilliant, thanks so much.

will ask for bactroban for sure.

she does have an extremely attractive habit of stuffing her finger up her nose!

i did continue applying germolene for a while after it cleared up but think i will adopt the each night approach as well.

thanks again both of you.

hope the kitten is okay now
