In a lot of pain and don't know why

So I'll just say TMI because there will be mention of periods.

I got my period on the 19th of Dec and it was really short, the first day was light but red blood and the other 2 days it was brown and very light.
Before I had my period and still now afterwards I have had very uncomfortable back pain and a th pain in my left side under my bottom rib but above my hip. I first thought it might be a kidney infection but after going to the doctors I found out it's not that and didn't get asked anything further.
I've also had hip pain, and nausea. But the pain in my left side has only gotten worse and hasn't gone away for the last 3 days now.
Has anyone experienced anything similar and might know what it is?

OH and I have been trying for a baby, but all tests come back negitave so I doubt it's that. Especially since I had my period already.

Have you done a pregnancy test since your period? Could you have an ectopic pregnancy? I would be concerned that your period was so unusually light and you've been having unprotected sex, then you are now having one sided pain and nausea. I think you need to get a medical appointment and do a pregnancy test.

I did a pregnancy test this morning after I had a doctor's appointment (they only checked for kidney infection and sent me home) the test was negitave.
