What does a panic attack feel like?

I am feeling really strange on and off. I'm at work later and just tried to get my head down this afternoon but couldn't sleep due to stange sensations lasting a few seconds through my body. It's really hard to explain but almost like an electricity spasm - not painful but I did feel like I might pass out or die. I've had this before but never went to the doctor as it is so difficult to explain. Any ideas anyone?

Personally I start hyperventilating and all my senses become very alert. Last time I was in the changing rooms at the local swimming pool. The teenagers running around, shouting and laughing seemed VERY LOUD to me and I just wanted to scream and run out of there. Unfortunately, I had DD with me so couldn't. I start feeling very vunerable and as though everything is closing in on me.

Sorry - hit post too soon.

Go to your doctor and explain how you've been feeling. It does sound as though you're having panic attacks. The feelings of doom are common.
