DF takes it for his tremors (Parkinson’s Disease). CBD Bros are a reliable supplier

greathat · 20/12/2018 19:49

My pharmacist recommended it to me for migraines. Not tried it but apparently a fair few people in our village are using it :)

katseyes7 · 20/12/2018 19:49

l took it two years ago before l had a hip replacement. lt worked for pain relief when nothing the doctor gave me did.

Wagonwheelsandjammydodgers · 20/12/2018 19:51

I'm interested in finding out more about it for pain. Can you get addicted to it and then need increasing doses to get the same effect? Can it interact with other medications? How do you know what to try first? Thanks

HarleyQuinnxx · 20/12/2018 19:51

I take it for various health issues recommend by my doctor and yes i do recommend it

TheHobbitMum · 20/12/2018 19:52

HarleyQuinnxx · 20/12/2018 19:54

Sorry I should've added I use it for pain from my rheumatoid arthritis. It works alongside my painkillers and I find I need a much lower dose of prescription meds. It's not addictive and I've not experienced developing a tolerance to it which has needed a higher dose

HarleyQuinnxx · 20/12/2018 20:02

Oh btw I take it for muscle and joint pain

Wagonwheelsandjammydodgers · 20/12/2018 20:11

thehobbitmum can I ask if you take it alongside dmards eg methotrexate, or biologics? Good to hear you can have it alongside painkillers

My dad has an arm that doesn’t work (he still has the whole arm, just basically paralysed) but gives him so much pain he sometimes doubles over, he doesn’t like the taste but he says it works (or the odd hash brownie)

My mum is using it for knee pain, she tore the cartilage and already had artritis in the joint but she’s not wanting a knee replacement just yet.
It’s made a massive difference to her pain levels, she’s still in pain, but not to the same extent. Far from it. She gets hers from a local independent health food shop.

LuluBellaBlue · 20/12/2018 20:20

Me! I use it for health and spiritual practice Grin

itbemay · 20/12/2018 20:22

DH uses it to chill and BIL swears by it for back pain

ABCagain · 20/12/2018 20:24

Me too, it stops me grinding my Teeth in my sleep!

Alienspaceship · 20/12/2018 20:27

How do you use it for migraines?

ladybird69 · 20/12/2018 20:31

What is the best one to try first? I’m currently taking co codamol, naxproxen and tramadol for pain relief but it doesn’t touch it! Dr won’t give me anything stronger yet my sis inlaw has morphine patches! I’d just like a day pain free. Tia

rosenylund · 20/12/2018 20:37

Can anyone recommend a good brand on amazon, just so I can use prime and get it in time for the big day, hoping it will help mum and arthritis

Nat6999 · 20/12/2018 20:39

I use it for ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia & Arthritis, I honestly think it helps my mood as well.

abbsisspartacus · 20/12/2018 20:46

Isn't it expensive?

MustShowDH · 20/12/2018 22:57

Has much research gone into it? It seems to have become popular very quickly.

Not enough. Most evidence is anecdotal. Within 2 days of starting on cannabis oil, my DF went from shaking so much he struggled to drink from a cup to being able to pour a cup of tea. He put on weight and his quality of life improved; however, the effects of the oil has not lasted and 2 years down the line, he is again struggling to carry out Day to day activities.

Redglitter · 20/12/2018 23:28

I found the stuff you get in places like Holland & Barret useless. Its not strong enough. I buy mine online and its great

swingofthings · 21/12/2018 06:37

I use it for anxiety and it helps. I get the one from H&B but the stronger dose which I understand is the strongest legal dose anyway. Its been on 50% sale for some time.

Redglitter · 21/12/2018 07:01

Whats the strongest H&B do? I thought it was something like 2%
