Why does stress make me over eat?

Have had mega stressful week which all hopefully ended tonight. However cos of the stress I've been under I've really pigged out every night - now to the extent that this is really stressing me out in itself!!
Why does this always hapen to me & why do I have no self control?

Now that is something I would really like to know the answer to, myself.

I do remember that, the first time I was in love (or should I say, in lust ) with a man, the weight just dropped off me as I didn't seem to need to eat. I enjoyed my meals, but felt no need to take second helpings or snacks.

What's been up?

I think it is to do with childhood - how you were taught to eat when stressed/upset

There is actually a good article in Cosmo - break your eating habits and lose a stone, and I think that there is a section of stress over eaters

Oh PrettyCandles, to start with have just gone back to work after maternity leave & youngest dd'3 has had trouble settling with childminder, also have had falling out with lots of P.T.A members at oldest dd1's school about conflicting interests over end of term bbq (am secretary on committee & wish I'd never bothered!) & just lots of silly small things e'g fridge breaking etc! What's making it worse is it's dh's dads 70th at the weekend & he's having posh do which I know I'll now never find anything to fit into - sorry for the long moan!!!
