Funny looking lump on DS (2) collar bone

I noticed quite a while ago that DS has a funny lump on the end (by his throat) of his collar bone on one side.

It doesn't seem to bother him at all but looks a bit funny, does anyone have any ideas as to what it might be? Should I dash himn of to the doc's?

I'd say check it with the doc asap. Not to worry you, but at least you'll be reassured.

I would get it checked for peace of mind. My dd had a lump on her collar bone but that was becuse she broke it and we knew about it ...It has just about gone now.

My DS (19 months) has exactly the same thing...I took him to the doc and then a specialist who did not seem to have a clue or be at all concerned. He is going to have an xray in a few months when he can sit still a bit better. I am giving him a course of homeopathic medicine although I am not convinced that it will make any difference at all.
How old is your DS? Is it quite pointy/sticky outy? I did find out some info on the internet and I can't remember what it's called now but it doesn't seem to be anything that needs to be treated.
I would be v interested to know if you find out anything else...

DS is 2 next month. The lump is a bit pointy - really it looks like one side of his collar bone is a bit more pronounced than the other.

Initially I thought I was imagining it as it was difficult to see as he is so wriggly.

I will take him to the doctors but thought I'd check here first to see if anyone had any ideas what it might be.

yes at first i thought it was just a bit pronounced but then my sister noticed it, i mentioned it to the health visitor and she said to get it checked out when i am at the doctor.

I normally never go to the doctor but as i'm pregnant I took him along for the appt to book a scan. Initially the doctor said it might go away by itself but then he said it would be worth getting an appt with an orthopedic doc as I could always cancel it.

Anyway it doesn't seem to be going away and now I keep thinking the other side is starting to look the same way.

I don't know of anyone else who has heard of this so would be interested to know what happens as the docs I were not very helpful!
