Diagnose me: Not sure if I need dentist or doctor...

My lower jaw feels weird, sort of like an almost dull ache, sort of full. There is no pain in any of my teeth or poking at my drawer. However if I poke my throat (from the outside!) it makes this weird pain twinge a bit.

So doctor or dentist?

Doctor if your teeth aren't painful. Perhaps it's just a swollen gland.

Since when? If it's just today I'd wait another day to see if you drop dead anything changes.

Radiating pain in the jaw is a symptom of heart attack. More common in women.
That being said, you're more than likely not having a heart attack.

It's since yesterday, and I can't book an appointment until Monday anyway, so will see how it goes. I had considered a heart attack but I'm not dead yet, and am pretty much symptomless otherwise so I'm fairly sure it's not that.

Have you still got your wisdom teeth? Could be related to them.

Still have wisdom teeth yes.

However, currently feeling a little optimistic as poking my throat seems to cause less tenderness now. I'm hoping I'll be able to write it off as random unexplained thing my aging body does...

Is the the whole of your lower jaw or just one side?
