Hi everyone I'm new to mumsnet and was looking for some advice.
I gor a call from school to say my 5 year old daughter all of a sudden flopped back in chair and her hands went rigid she seemed to be looking into space for 10 seconds to which they thought may be a absence seizure. Took her to doctors who said more like a faint did all normal checks everything came back normal. Anyone experienced anything similar. So worried right now my eldest who is 10 has just been diagnosed with epilepsy.

It could be a faint but the rigid hand and stare does sound more like an absent siezure. Can’t know for sure till she’s had tests. I would definitely go back to gp and ask to be referred to a specialist.

It does sound rather like some kind of epilepsy.

Push harder. With that family history I'd want the paediatrician to look at a minimum.
