I know combined pills with oestrogen are a no if you've ever had migraine with aura but qlaira claims to be natural oestrogen. Has anyone tried it?

The oestrogen in Qlaira (oestradiol) is the same as in many other combined oral contraceptives (COCs). It was among the first COCs to include oestradiol but that was in 2009. Although oestradiol is one of the chemical forms of oestrogen that are secreted natually by the ovaries (along with oestriol and oestrone: oestradiol is the most potent), the actual oestradiol in the pills is synthetic. I'm not sure you would want to swallow "natural" oestrogen from someone else's ovaries, even if it could be obtained in sufficient quantities.

The word "natural" in marketing materials is nearly always meaningless. As is everything else in marketing materials.

Ok. No oestrogen for me. The mirena was a car crash and I'm not having the copper coil so looks like abstinence is the way.

I have severe migraine with aura. They put me on rigivideon and I've been on it for 3 years with no problems so far.

@lolarose896 yes I was on loestrin20 for ages with my neurologists consent but though it didn't give me auras, it gave daily severe headaches. Last aura migraine was April 2015 and I can only pray it stays that way.
