Worried about breathing and cough

Just that really. Had a cough about ten days - ok so I had a cold previously so it might be related to that. It’s not bad - just occasional. That on its own wouldn’t bother me, but for the last few weeks or since the start of November I seem to have been noticing my breathing more- as if it’s a bit harder to do things that it wasn’t before. Eg- carrying toddler up the stairs. I’m not massively out of breath but it makes me breathe faster in a way I don’t think I noticed before. The weird thing is that doing actual exercise is fine- it’s not stopping me from doing anything exactly.

I’ve also got a slight burning in my throat from time to time- bit like heartburn and feel a bit chesty.

Of course, doctor google comes up with lung cancer 😳 which I’m especially sensitive to as one of my close friends died of it last year age 38Sad. My parents were also massive smokers so I was exposed to very high levels of cigarette smoke as s child so my lungs are probably screwed.

Going to see the gp on Monday, but I’m worried. I have little kids. I can’t leave them yet. Sad

Someone stop me from panicking. Please. Sad

I hope the Gp was helpful, sorry your post was missed.

How did it go at the GP?

I really think it’s all from your cold. Don’t panic and stay away from google.

It could possibly be a bit of asthma. Sometimes a bad virus can leave you like this, inflamed airways for a bit. I developed asthma following my first pregnancy and several bad coughs.

It's got worse after my second actually and I need to be stepped up to a new plan.

Thanks all. Gp thinks it’s from the cold virus. Going to monitor it over a few weeks and see if it improves- will Go back if not.

Asthma might be a possibility so will hang onto that thought. X
