If you have a fitbit or similar, do you notice increased heart rate when you are ill?

I have a fitness watch, not a fitbit but similar. Kids were ill last week vomiting and it caught me last night, stomach pains, diarrhea, vomiting, shivering not very nice. I went to bed early but woke up after an hour for some reason, just didn't feel right, and I checked my hr it was 105 but went up to 125 at highest. All night it stayed around 100-110 even when I was asleep. I still feel terrible this morning but it seems to be slowly coming down. I'm assuming we have norovirus or something, can you heart rate increase so much when ill? It's normally between 70-80 resting. Not sure if I need to get it checked but definitely don't want to infect anyone!

This sounds perfectly normal. it should settle again within a couple of days as you start to feel better.

When I was ill with the flu last Autumn my Fitbit also showed that my heart rate was higher than it would be normally. Apparently your heart rate increases when you have a temperature - it's perfectly normal.

Thanks for the replies that puts my mind at rest, it's back down almost to normal at the moment.
