Constipation in babies

My baby girl became very constipated when I stopped breastfeeding at 6 months and put her onto formula milk. I was giving her 3 ice-cube sized portions of pureed prunes in with her porrige for breakfast which seemed to help but if I missed a day she would cry when she filled her nappy. My health visitor was aware and said I was doing the right thing. Then my friend who lives in a different area from me told me that her daughter was suffering from constipation and her health visitor had suggested that she change her formula milk to Aptamil and within 24 hours she had noticed a huge difference. I then tried Aptamil milk and within 48 hours my daughters constipation had disappeared. She is now back to her regular self without the help of any prunes whatsoever. The change has been so dramatic that I felt that I should let others know. It may not work for everyone but it certainly is worth a try.

I had the same experience with my first son after I stopped breastfeeding. Swapped to Aptamil on the peadiatrician's advice and he was fine. Started DT's on Aptamil as soon as I switched to formula and neither of them had any problems.
