Got the chance to infect one of my kids this pm on a playdate(none have had it).

Do people still do this?? Is it advisable, am aware chicken pox can be nasty?? Have 3 under 4 but we go on holiday July 26th so wondering if we are out of the pox season yet so no need to push them into getting it.

Don't do it since one will get it then the next two weeks later, then the next two weeks after that just as you think you are clear and about to go on holiday.

I know I talk from experience

Thanks for the advice, dp did think I was barking mad to even consider it when I just rang him.

my dd has just got over it. it was the worst 2 weeks of my life. she was horrendous, and the heat doesn't help either. my dd has been in and out of hospital all year, but this was worse than any of that. don't do it

Don't do it. Ypou will feel really guilty when you see your children suffering. If they get it by chance it's one thing but purposefully making them ill is cruel.

belgo · 20/06/2007 11:45

Don't do it, it could mean he is still infectious during your holiday.

mankyscotslass · 20/06/2007 11:51

The two youngest mankys got it 2 1/2 weeks after the eldest...we are on day 5 and middle manky has scabbed nicely. But little manky hasnt scabbed yet and is covered, more still coming out. he is very miserable and i cant put him down, at all.....horrible illness.

Thanks for all the advice, was kind of a gut feeling to cancel. Does seem to be dragging on this year, I thought it was an Autumn to Spring thing.
