I have got a catheter in place until Tuesday following a small operation on my bladder 10 days ago. It was removed last Tues but had to have it refitted on Wed due to a urine infection.

Today I have suffered all day with a real urge to go to the loo (and I mean real urge). I also have a dull ache in the lower part of my body.

What can I do to take my mind off this awful urge, its worst when I stand or move.

Im so fed up, I really dont want to contact the hosp as they have really messed me about this last 10 days, and the lady Im under isnt in work until Tuesday!

maybe if you spoke to hosp youd get someone better?

lulumama · 17/06/2007 19:51

speak to hospital or your GP

I think you ought to contact the hospital - or even consider A&E. The dull ache combined with infection would be enough to worry me.

I was hoping to get through tonight and speak to the unit that I have got to go to on Tuesday. Honestly the hosp has really messed me around and Im about 45mins away from them!

Was just hoping that maybe someone else has experienced this and what they did to take their minds off it!

Have just telephoned the hosp, they have said it sounds like its now in my kidneys but as Im still passing urine just take paracetamol and then tomorrow either go and see my GP or pop up to them!
