If any of you ladies have ever been referred to the breast clinic following finding a lump, could you please tell me how you stay sane waiting. I’ve had to be put on diazepam I feel sick thinking of the worst outcome. I have a 9 month old little boy at home.

OP, I think I commented on your other thread. At my appointment I was examined by a consultant and then had an ultrasound. During the ultrasound I was told it looked like nothing to worry about. I then went back in to see the consultant who confirmed the lump was harmless. It's quite likely you will find out on the day - they are very good. Good luck and will be thinking of you.

I had the same experience a few weeks ago. I'm 38 and had an ultrasound followed by a biopsy. Although from the ultrasound alone they were able to tell me with a high degree of certainty it was a benign fibroadenoma, but apparently because I'm over 35 they had to do the biopsy anyway just to be 100% certain. But the nurse was incredibly reassuring and said it was nothing at all to worry about. I actually got my results letter 7 weeks later.

Thank you everyone, if I was just on my own and this was happening I wouldn’t be in as much as a panic, I know asking everyone on here won’t tell me if it’s serious but I desperately want to see my little boy grow up, I love him so much, I just feel so tired and sick from worrying. X

If they believed it was something more sinister you'd have been seen a few days after your gp appt x

Keep posting OP if it helps you. A lot of us have been through what you are going through. The wait is torture. Are you keeping busy to distract yourself?

Vi37 · 03/11/2018 22:07

I feel pretty much stuck, I’m trying to keep busy but then just cry thinking of it all. I have post natal depression and anxiety mixed in with it too. Thinkingcapon, thanks but I think the two weeks wait is pretty standard, I don’t think they can put you in any earlier if they’re concerned.

Are you able to ring up tomorrow and check for any cancellations I wonder? It might make you feel you are doing something to get it sorted a bit sooner. Perhaps if you speak to the booking person and explain your anxiety they might be able to get you in a bit quicker?

Thank you, I could give phoning up a try it can’t hurts suppose, if they say no they say no. X
