Can a lo be sick with teething..?

Just wondered as dd has been a bit off at night since tuesday and yesterday was not herself. Quite clingy and upset and lethargic. She wouldn't eat anything and would only drink.

Come 6pm she vomited everywhere. Her temo yesterday varied between 37-39 and we managed to control it with ibuprofen and calpol.

Today she is slightly brighter and has eaten a little more than yesterday but still seems the same. Temp again varies up to around 38/39. I have noticed at lunch that her left cheek is very red on the outside and I have tried to look inside and can see the very back bottom left tooth coming through although not sure if it is through (dd not allowing me to check much).
She is 2 btw. I know teething can cause a high temp and to be off etc BUT Can teething cause her to vomit.?

seemed to cause action the other end with my ds. sounds very like teething, but could be a bug. sometimes you never know - sounds like shes on the mend, just keep an eye on her.

thing is moopymoo, I think she's on the mend then..............she seems like she isn't. . God I hate it when either of the lo's are ill. I feel so helpless and always fear the worse.

Just put her to bed about 30 mins ago with a drink she has nearly finsihed (her ibu is mixed with juice as its the only way atm to get even a mouthful of medicine into her..think she is getting wise to it) BUT she just work hysterical. Couldn't speak for crying. She is now settled..well for the next 10 mins at least.

Her vocabulary is so much better now aged 2 BUT even then I wish she could say "mummy its my tummy that hurts etc". Whenever I ask she just screams and moans more....

actually have just remembered ibuprofen makes my ds vomit spectacularly, particularly orange flavoured ones. i know its awful whenthey look at you to make them feel better and theres not much you can do. my youngest is nearly 3, he can tell me more easily now. actually hes asleep on the settee said he wasnt feeling well maybe its catching..
hope shes feeling better soon.

any tips on getting medicine into them mm..? Thought we had it cracked when a month or so ago dd happily gave it to herself off a spoon .

Didn't last long..Now back to the "headlock" option...

My dd 13mth had chicken pox follwed by measles and we gave her suppository pain killers in the end as she was so sick of nurofen and calpol. the suppositories (which are pricey if I remeber) were really easy to use and fantastic for reducing a temperature fast! I imagine it would be same for pain.

my ds gets sicky with teeth. especially the far back ones. i think it's almost like a gag reflex.
not fun though.

For the teething I find the Camomile teething granules really soothed dd. You can use Calpol as well for reducing temp. It could be the ibuprofen that is making her vomit. It gives dd tummy ache, maybe from taking it on an empty tummy?

Well, there are lots of schools of thought on this. I think, personally, it can.

But, some suggest that at the time of teething a child is quite like to put more things in their mouth and thus be more prone to picking up d & v type things.

Either way, your poor DD is probably feeling quite poorly. Make sure she has plenty of fluids. Strip her off, and try and get some calpol or medised down.

i remember the expression Toddler Diarrhoea, which as already suggested, might come from putting all sorts in their mouths..

thanks everyone..well we survived another ill few days!! DD is much brighter today BUT has insisted on her fifi travel bed in the lounge bless.!

Think it may have been her back teeth although not sure. She has not been happy at all and very sorry for herself.

Just ended up hiding ibu in stuff..ie a mini weetabix etc soaked in ibu . Or a bit of juice mixed with it..only way we could get more than usual into her. Poor little thing must have been sure mummy and daddy were trying to drug her...!
