First of all, obviously I know that diagnosis shouldn't be done online, but I am posting here whilst I see (hopefully) some progression with a diagnosis and medication that works coming from the doctors. At the moment I feel like they are guessing without sending me to an specialist, which I am not happy about as even when I checked the last diagnosis out online I don't have most of the symptoms Confused

For around 5 years I have had a problem that is making my life quite uncomfortable. I've got no pain but sometimes I am really really uncomfortable. I have the feeling of constantly having a lot of thick mucus in my throat. I know it is there as in some occasions I have been able to release some. It is really uncomfortable and I need to clear my throat all the time (which makes no difference but just cannot avoid it because I feel like I've got something stuck there).

My nose feels often quite stuffy and I feel like I've got mucus in my ears too, they pop when I swallow and when flying I hear noises (imagine a bag of crips).

I just feel I am full of mucus everywhere really, and it is constant. I've got periods when I am better and others when it is worst, but it has been a constant in my life for too long.

I've been to 3 different doctors. The first one thought I had asthma (my mum has asthma), but after a few tests they ruled it out.

After that, we moved house, got pregnant and had a baby, so didn't go to see a doctor in a while. The next one I went to see though that didn't sound like asthma at all and I had post nasal drip, for which he gave me a steroid nasal spray to use for a month, which didn't really work (I felt a little bit of a relief in the moment after using it, like if my airways were a bit more open, but the relief only lasted for a very brief time and that spray was to be used just twice a day).

I have gone to another GP and he says it is allergic rhinitis. I am a bit sceptical tbh, he has prescribed antihistamins to see if it works. I hope it works, I just want to know what is this so they can give me whatever treatment I need, but at the moment I do not know what to believe because when checking rhinitis online I do not have most of those symptoms (sneezing, itchiness, headaches or runny nose...)

I wonder if any of you have similar symptoms to myself and what is this??

My first thought was allergies, I am sensitive to dust and most days at work I experience the symptoms you describe. The antihistamines might take a while to work but stick with them
