Hey girls,

I am wondering if anyone has given your baby (older than 6 month but under 3 years old) flu vaccination in London? I am based in West Finchley and I have been calling my GP in the past weeks, at first, they told me the flu vaccination for baby has not arrived yet and let me call them back a week later, which I have done so, repeatedly, but today when I called them, they told me they only give flu vaccination to babies who have severe lung disease by NHS policy. I explained if I am willing to pay for it, would it be ok to give my 10 month old baby boy flu vaccination and they told me NO. When I asked where should I turn to if I want to give my 10 month old DS flu vaccination, they said they have never heard a thing about this and just hung up......

I am very confused right now, I recently moved to London from Dublin and not quite familiar with the system here, DS's previous pediatrician told me that baby older than 6 month should have flu vaccination to protect them, but it seems it is not the case here in London or just I have a bad GP... a very confused mum here...

Any advice on this maybe? Also, what do you think of NHS here? Is it necessary to buy private health insurance to access pediatrician in private clinic..

Some Superdrug vaccination clinics do over 6 months old, I believe. But you need to check first.
