Should I go to the walk in with abdominal pain and swelling?

I am a doctor avoider. But it’s been three days now. I have no appetite and my stomach is bloated and sore especially when touched mainly on the right below belly button. I keep telling myself it’s constipation which it could be, I took a overnight laxative on Friday and had explosive diarrhoea. But still feel bunged up. Do I go today or wait for GP tomorrow?

Go today OP. How's your appetite?

Harrykanesrightsock · 30/09/2018 06:40

I haven’t ate since Thursday and have no appetite at all

Yes get seen. Bowel type things can be quite serious if left untreated. Even if it's nothing serious at least they might prescribe something so you're more comfortable.

Ok. Thanks just needed someone other than my overly worried DH to tell me.

Please go asap, sounds like appendicitis! Can you call 111?

BikeRunSki · 30/09/2018 06:46

Yes! Go!!

Harrykanesrightsock · 30/09/2018 06:48

The walk on opens at 8. By the time I wait for a call back from 111 it will be after that. And I’ve google symptoms —I know— and it could be so many things I’ve a feeling they will tell me to go anyway. I hate being unwell Sad

I also thought possible appendicitis.

Harrykanesrightsock · 30/09/2018 06:59

I’m not bent over with pain. I thought that was how appendicitis presents. I’m very sore and very uncomfortable but not in agony. That’s what is making me doubt myself from going.

Pain with appendicitis comes and goes. That is called a "grumbling appendix". Please just go to the walk in centre or seek medical care asap OP.

Classic appendix presents as agonising pain but it can vary. I had pain higher up and I was admitted with ?appendicitis because they thought it could be my appendix presenting in an unusual way. Mine turned out to be endometriosis but yes, if it’s been going on now for 3 days and laxatives didn’t help, you should definitely get checked out.

How are you Harry?
