dd1 has contracted the same virus that had dd2 in hospital on oxygen from febrile convulsion last week, so I may be being overly anxious.

I'm following a combo of paracetamol and nurofen every 6 or so hours and her temperature does finally get down and stays down for about 4 hrs or so, but as soon as the hour before the next dose is due, it shoots up again and takes over an hour to reduce. In this time shes been writhing around saying she has tummy ache, she says tickles (gently running my fingers tips over her tummy), helps as does a cool flannel.

Is this a normal part of a childs temperature, as I know they cant distinguish were discomfort is in the body very easily?

Ive been making her herb teas today (chamomile for now) as she likes them , in the hope that it will sooth, I dont really know what else to do.

Not sure I can offer any constructive advice but for you and dc, melsy. First thought was that it might be a grumbling appendix but then I saw your posting about the virus. Hope dc are feeling better soon.
