I had another thread but can’t find it. I’m having blood tests next week as I went to the doctor as I’m fed up of the random problems with my joints/bones/muscles?

I know I have arthritis in my little finger, had that for years, I have tendonitis in the jfinger joints where they join on the palm and when that flairs up its agony, I can’t touch anything. I get muscle aches for no reason. In my legs and arms. Like you’ve over done it at the gym?

Then I get these really painful times, today for example the outside of my first finger feels really bruised along the side next to my second finger? It looks ok, no bruise but it’s so painful. Can anyone shed any light?

I have this op. Mainly in my legs. 24/7. I have fibromyalgia. Happy to answer any questions if you need to know any more. Obviously not saying it is this but it's not normal to have pain for no reason.

Could be some sort of autoimmune condition. I recommend seeing a healthcare professional.

How old are you OP? I am on HRT and that has taken away 90% of hideous grinding body aching pain. I am hoping I can stay on it as if I drop the dose or try and come off it my life is not worth living as I can barely get out of bed. Dosed up on HRT and I'm like a rubberised tigger.

I have hypothyroidism and get pain like this. If you are having bloods get them to test your thyroid too. I had many symptoms, check yours here. www.btf-thyroid.org/information/your-thyroid-gland

Ilmb · 24/09/2018 19:04

Yes thyroid is one thing they are looking at aswell as vitamin d but i do take vit d... . zoflora wouldn’t I be in pain all the time if I had that? Some days im ok?

A hypermobility syndrome, perhaps Ehlers-Danlos is also a possibility (muscles sometimes counteract the joints so the person isn't hypermobile even though the actual joints are if examined closely).Blood tests can rule in/out arthritis, so if no joy, ask for referral to a rheumatologist.

Sorry I’m 37. It’s not a new thing, been like this for quite a few years and it’s got more coming/worse over the last year or so?

Have you had your rheumatoid factor tested? I have had aches and pains on and off, stiffness swelling etc in joints for a good while now and recently got diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. It only got taken seriously when I went back to the GP yet again and saw a different doctor who was fab and ordered extensive blood tests! You need something beyond the basic tests. Don't let them fob you off.

honeysucklejasmine · 24/09/2018 19:16

I have connective tissue disease which sounds similar to what you're experiencing. Definitely make sure they are testing for rheumatoid factors, as pp said.

BillywigSting · 24/09/2018 19:20

I had these kinds of pains and it turned out to be a vitamin D deficiency. That was spotted on a standard test though I think. There are honestly so many things it could be, seeing a gp is your best bet.

Ilmb · 24/09/2018 20:18

billy I said in my OP that I have already seen the gp and I’m having bloods done next week. She doesnt kbow what it is, said they want to check as sounds ‘rheumy’ butdidnt suggest rheumatoid arthritis. It’s wierd as doesn’t tick all the boxes for one thing

I have hyper mobility issues and have painful muscles and joints. It can be bad some days and not others, some days I can run 10k other days it hurts to think too much

EachandEveryone · 24/09/2018 20:22

I’m with you on this. Sonedays I just don’t want to get out of bed my hips and feet are so painful. I am sick of wearing fit flops I can’t bend my feet when I’m kneeling if that makes sense. I’m hypothyroid but my go insists it’s not connected. I started hrt three weeks ago and I don’t know how long it takes to kick in. I’m getting desperate it’s been a year now.

Ilmb · 24/09/2018 20:31

My son is hypermobile but I'm not. So if bloods are clear do you think gp will refer me even if nothing comes up? My backs/pelvis is very bad. A car accident knackered it but I see a chiropractor who really helps. My fingers and hands are probably rhe worse and cause me the most problems..
