My wee smells of Sugar Puffs

Does that always mean Diabetes? I don’t drink coffee by the way.

I’d say rather than asking Dr Mumsnet you should make an appointment with your GP.

I get that sometimes in the morning and i dont have diabetes. Not sure what it is though!

I get it when I eat brown sugar. I don't have diabetes.

All the time? Do you eat a lot of sugar? Probably best to book an appointment to see someone about it and take a sample with you

I thought it was to do with eating asparagus

I have a Health Check on Thursday so will mention it then. I do eat chocolate quite a bit

I have also had it without having diabetes.
I currently have gestational diabetes and haven't had it.
The GP can give you a test strip for your urine.

I get it when i eat anything malted. Like Shreddies.

Urine infection? My friend had weird smelling wee but no other symptoms and it turned out to be a UTI.

Are you dehydrated?

When you find out what it is, could you possibly tell me, and then I can feed it to DH? His smells like wee, only constantly staler. Sugar Puffs would be a welcome change.

It’s sugar you can smell. There is something called a low rental threshold, which means that your kidneys release more sugar into your urine than normal. It’s fine, just one of those things. However it can also be a sign of diabetes so you must have it checked.
