PED- Optician spots a problem in my mother's eye

Hello

Has anyone any experience/ knowledge of PED (pigment epithelial detachment) in the eye?

My mum (77) has had this spotted using a scanner at the optician's and all I am finding out from the Internet is that it seems vary rare (

How is your mother and her eyesight?

I've just had the same thing spotted in my eye, I'm in my forties.

There doesn't seem to be much information online, apart from - wait to go blind?!?
