FODMAP or Michael Moseley Clever Gut Diet?

My digestive issues have been flaring up a lot recently, and I am desperate to take action. I don't think I have IBS, it's too sporadic for that, but at least twice a week I am experiencing a combination of the following: bloating, wind, abdominal pain at night, mild constipation, and an acid stomach. I have been taking kefir for the last year, but I feel it's less effective than at first.
FODMAP looks pretty hard core, and it looks as if it would be sensible to work with a dietitian at the reintroduction stage, but I wondered if the Clever Gut Diet was a bit more manageable. Anyone had any success with either? Thanks.

I am on a low fibre and low FODMAP diet due to severe stomach pains caused by surgical adhesions. I have been pain free since April, having had days of severe pain every six weeks or so for two years. Give it a go
